The website interface can be registered as a work of applied art, which belongs to the group of literary, artistic and scientific works protected by copyright according to the provisions of Intellectual Property law.

– 2 copies of the works (including electronic copies);

– Written consent of co-authors, if there are multiple authors;

– Written consent of co-owners if copyright, related rights are under joint ownership;

– If the works contain images of other individuals, written consent produced by these individuals is required as per the law.

Note about the copyright registration declaration in the website interface copyright registration application

The copyright registration declaration is made according to the form prescribed by the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism. In there:

– The declaration form must be written in Vietnamese and contains information about the applicant, the author, the owner(s) of copyright or related rights;

– Completion time;

– Summarized content of the work;

– Time, location and form of publication;

– Commitment to take responsibility for information provided in the declaration form.

The declaration must bear the signature or fingerprints of the author, owner of copyright, owner of related rights, unless they are not physically capable of signing or appending fingerprints.

Requirements for website interface works in copyright registration dossiers

Works of applied art must meet the following conditions:

– Copies of the works must be depicted on A4 paper with accurate composition, contours, color, and shapes;

–  If the works contain letters or words that are not Vietnamese, these letters and words must be accompanied by Vietnamese pronunciation and translated to Vietnamese (if possible). If the works contain numbers other than Arabic or Roman numbers, the numbers must be translated to Arabic numbers;

– Works containing information relating to medical, education, or other field require confirmation and assessment documents issued by competent authorities.

  • Intellectual Property Law 2005 (amended and supplemented by the revised Intellectual Property Law 2009; revised Insurance Business Law, Intellectual Property Law 2019 and revised Intellectual Property Law 2022);
  • Decree 17/2023/ND-CP guiding the Intellectual Property Law on copyright and related rights;
  • Information Technology Law 2006.
